Travel Posts Weekly Roundup

by Craig on April 23, 2010

Welcome to the second edition of the Help Me Travel Cheap weekly round up.  During this Friday post, we highlight some of the articles we enjoyed reading on the web this week.

Delicious Baby asks What to do With Kids When There Are No Playgrounds.  Is there such a place?  My wife and I live in a small town in Papua New Guinea and we do now have one public playground.  Typically, what I Iike to do to entertain the kids is give them rocks and toilet paper rolls to play with.

Upgrade: Better Travel had a fantastic post where they looked at Five Consequences of the Volcano.  By the way, did you know there was recently a volcano in Iceland?  We had some friends who were in Germany, but we just found out that they got on a flight to JFK.  Amazingly enough, it was their regularly scheduled flight.

Nomatic Matt had an Interview with Pauline Frommer.  In case the name Frommer sounds familiar, I think there might be a book or two by her father, Arthur Frommer.

No Debt World Travel shares some interesting news regarding Spirit Airlines Carry-On Fees.  It is amazing how politics impacts everything.
