Booking a hotel on Hotwire as an example:

1. Go to Hotwire
2. Type in the your city, dates, and number of travelers (just the same as any site)
3. On the left hand side select the city area where you are interested in staying.

Hotwire will reveal certain facts about the hotel: You will know:

1. The general area where you stay
2. The amenities at your hotel
3. The hotwire star rating of your hotel

You won’t know certain facts about the hotel until after you book: You won’t know:

1. The brand of the hotel (for example, is it a Crowne Plaza or Hilton)
2. The exact address of the hotel
