Those 20,000 points translate into about 6 nights in a Category Two hotel.

Tips and Advice:

  1. TD Ameritrade is a good brokerage, but as with many brokerages, they have high costs unless you buy their no transaction fee mutual funds.  This promotion will only be of value if you currently are spending comparable brokerage costs or you avoid fee funds.
  2. Wait till you have a large deposit amount as this is the best way to take advantage of this one opportunity to get a surge of points into your account.
  3. This promotion is set to expire June 30th, 2009.  It has been renewing for a long time so I suspect it will again, but no guarantees.

Remember you need to leave the funds in for 6 – 9 months depending on how you interpret an unclear statement on the promotion page.
