Hours Left on the British Airways 100,000 Bonus

Update: Offer expired.  Instead, you should check out the Chase Sapphire Preferred.

I received an email today indicating that the Chase British Airways credit card promotion will be taken offline tomorrow (Tuesday, July 17th, at 5 p.m.).

As a reminder, here’s an overview of the offer:

  1. Sign up for and get approved for the card – annual fee of $95 is not waived.
  2. After your first purchase, you’ll get 50,000 British Airways Avios.
  3. If you spend $10,000 in the first 12 months, you’ll get a 25,000 Avois bonus.
  4. If you spend an additional $10,000 in the first 12 months, you’ll get an additional 25,000 Avois bonus.
Thus, a person who spends $20,000 in the first year will end up with 120,000 Avois.
By the way, the card also offers a companion pass if you spend $30,000 in a calendar year.  The pass is valid for two years. When you book an award flight on British Airways only, you’ll get the second without using any miles.  However, you will pay taxes, fees, and surcharges on the second ticket.
Since I’ve talked about the card here and here, I won’t go into many more details about the offer.  If you use the Avois wisely, they can be very valuable.
I will say that my wife got in on this offer.  Her card just arrived in the mail.  I already have this card from the promotion last year.
If you have any questions, leave a comment or email before 5 p.m. on July 17th, 2012.
